We arrived in Frankfurt and boy was that a long flight. Fortunately we had three seats to ourselves so I could lay halfway down. Not much sleep but we did get a little. We arrived in Frankfurt at 9am and quickly got on tour bus for Mainz. My Dad always said Germany was a beautiful country and he was right. We walked through the city and visited The Guttenburg Museum. It is where the first Bible was printed on a printing press in the 1460s. Guttenburg printed about 182 Bibles which took him over three years. The museum has 1 complete set that they bought for over a million dollars in the 1970’s. Our guide demonstrated printing a page of the Bible for us and it was John 1. It began with “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. It gave me chill bumps when he shared with us the section he printed. Before the printing press the Bible was written by hand. They had a few books on display that were hand written and they were beautiful. The Bible in those times were only available to the very rich. Isn’t it awesome that we all have access to the Word anytime we want it? We are very blessed to be able to go to the Word when we want to know more about God and His love for us. After the museum we were taken to a “day” hotel where we are supposed to be getting a 3 or 4 hours sleep before our flight at 10:45 to Tel Aviv. Because of the construction outside our window and Arts snoring I have given up and decided to write you all a note. (Am adding this note. I found out why I was so cold and why we could hear everything outside our window. It was open. Needless to say I check everything now.) Our flight tonight will only be 4 hours and we will immediately start touring in Israel. We will visit Joppa first where Jonah tried to escape from going to Ninevah. I’m sure we will be zombies by then but we are so excited.
